Job summary

FiberTel is seeking a Safety Coordinator for its Portland, OR office. The role plans, implements, and evaluates the safety program across office and field operations to ensure OSHA compliance and environmental requirements.

This full-time hourly position includes a work vehicle and gas card for travel, with benefits such as health, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan with company match. Pay is DOE and requires 1–3 years in safety roles with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Background in electrical utility, telecom, and/or construction safety preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in occupational health and safety is required.
• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to safety and site control.

Responsibilities

• Represent a team environment with collaborative skills to foster a positive EHS culture.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and codes.
• Conduct on-site inspections and identify unsafe conditions and practices.
• Respond quickly to facility EHS concerns.
• Provide admin support such as procurement and formatting.
• Participate in emergency planning and business continuity with facilities and risk management.
• Travel duties include using a work vehicle and gas card.
