Job summary

All Star Electric is looking for a Field Safety Coordinator to join the team and ensure the safety of all employees on the jobsite. You will implement preventative measures, inform colleagues of safety protocols, and respond to near misses and accidents.

You will educate colleagues on safety, monitor conditions, report hazards, and assist with PPE inspections, with opportunities for career advancement at the Gulf Coast contractor.

Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Responsibilities

  • Observe the working conditions of the jobsite to ensure safe work condition exist.
  • Educate colleagues on the importance of being safe on the site.
  • Take corrective action when unsafe conditions exist.
  • Observe behavior and actions of site workforce for unsafe acts and taking immediate action to correct actions before an incident or accident occurs.
  • Report all observations of unsafe conditions and acts verbally and properly document each incident.
  • Respond to incidents and accidents providing emergency aid support as needed and ensuring that all unsafe acts or conditions have been corrected to eliminate any further incidents or accidents.
  • Assist in issuing and inspecting personal protection equipment (PPE).

  • Experience and knowledgeable on electrical safety.
  • 5+ years in relevant safety experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in a construction environment.
  • OSHA 10 and 30-hour certified.
  • Safety certifications are ideal, but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work on an active construction site as well as office setting.
  • Ability to work in high elevations climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, lifts, etc.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, stand for extended periods.
