Job summary

TBC Corporation in Chicago seeks a Safety Specialist to provide field support, coaching, inspections, and corrective action across the Central region. Travel up to 75% and collaborate with operations to drive DOT/FMCSA compliance and comprehensive safety programs.

You will train leaders, document findings, track corrective actions, and ensure consistent safety execution across multiple sites. Associate degree in safety and 3–5 years field experience required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Operations, Logistics, or related field.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% to assigned locations for field support, inspections, coaching, incident follow-up, and safety program implementation.
• Strong knowledge of safety inspections, hazard identification, OSHA expectations, and DOT/FMCSA compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled field support, remote coaching, safety check-ins, and practical guidance to assigned locations.
• Supports an assigned regional portfolio of locations, working with facility leaders, Safety Captains, and Driver Ambassadors to execute safety programs.
• Conduct inspections, hazard assessments, and observations; document findings and support timely corrective action.
• Follow up on incidents, near misses, findings, and hazards to support investigation, documentation, corrective action, and closure.
• Coach leaders and frontline teams on hazard recognition, reporting, corrective actions, and program requirements.
• Coordinate with regional leaders to drive safety programs, campaigns, and corrective actions at location level.
• Track corrective actions, inspections, training follow-up, and safety activity records.
