Job summary

CRH Americas Materials in the United States is seeking a Field Safety Specialist I to support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs across multiple lines of business in Norfolk, VA area. The role focuses on training, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action management to promote a strong safety culture.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with preferred Associate degree and safety-related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or equivalent preferred; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
• Prior experience in safety, construction or related industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of company safety programs and onboarding.
• Participate in routine safety inspections and site safety planning.
• Track and support corrective actions from inspections, audits, and investigations.
• Support incident investigations and data collection of injuries, incidents and near-misses.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and training sessions to promote safety compliance.
• Observe work practices and coach on safe behaviors.
• Assist with safety projects and initiatives across business units.
• Other duties as assigned.
