Dellbrook is seeking a Field Safety and Risk Manager to oversee safety and risk management across New England construction projects. The role emphasizes proactive risk identification, incident investigations, and leadership in safety programs on multiple sites.

Ideal candidates will have 5–7 years in construction safety, robust knowledge of OSHA regulations, and the ability to drive safety culture with field teams. Travel, a valid license, and PPE compliance are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of safety or field related experience.
  • Professional designations preferred (e.g. CSP, CHST, CRIS, CSL).
  • Ability to travel throughout New England.
  • Have a reliable vehicle.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Support night and weekend work as needed.
  • Physically able to maneuver throughout a construction site and use PPE as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify risk and define mitigation strategies in a team environment.
  • Participate in pre-construction safety meetings on all projects.
  • Develop and implement Risk Mitigation plans, including site-specific safety programs and QAQC/Fire Prevention Plans.
  • Drive QAQC plans on assigned projects and provide risk management expertise.
  • Participate in weekly project safety meetings and assist subs to work safely.

Job description

Position Summary

The Field Safety and Risk Manager is responsible for providing overall safety and risk management support to various construction projects throughout New England. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience regarding construction safety, thorough understanding of OSHA and State level regulations, interpreting them, and successfully implementation on their defined projects. In addition, successful candidate will have construction related experience. Daily Risk Management inspections of field projects are the primary responsibility of the position to ensure compliance with Company and regulatory regulations. S/he must be able to interact with tradesmen through all levels of management effectively. The Field Safety and Risk Manager should have strong communication skills allowing to handle crucial conversations effectively.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify risk and define mitigation strategies in a team environment
  • Participate in pre-construction safety meetings on all projects
  • Develop and implement Risk Mitigation plans, including; site-specific safety program(s), QAQC Plans, and Fire Prevention Plans with the project team
  • Drive QAQC Plans on assigned projects
  • Provide Risk Management expertise to the project team
  • Participate in weekly project safety meetings
  • Work with the Project Superintendents to identify key activities that require AHAs
  • Assist the subcontractors to ensure they are performing their work in a safe manner
  • Understand the project specifics to better support the teams
  • Be able to assess situations and work tasks to proactively assist with identifying the most appropriate course of action
  • Develop Safety Shares that will provide value to the company
  • Strong knowledge in Risk Management Practices and claims management
  • Conduct incident investigations
  • Understand insurance principles
  • Be able to manage their time to prioritize responsibilities
  • Work independently with little oversight
  • Write safety inspection reports and weekly summary reports for management
Training
  • The Safety and Risk Manager should possess the OSHA 500 Trainer Authorization to perform both 10 and 30hr training sessions. Provide periodic safety training in the field based on project needs
  • Manage the online safety training program that is currently in place to track employees progress
Structure

The Field Safety and Risk Manager reports to the Director of Safety and Risk Management. He also supports all other Business Units

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety or related construction management field. Construction work experience would also be considered and beneficial
  • 5 years of safety or field related experience
  • Professional designations preferred (i.e. CSP, CHST, CRIS, CSL, etc.)
  • Ability to travel throughout New England
  • Have a reliable vehicle
  • Maintain a valid driver's license
  • Support night and weekend work as needed
  • Physically able to maneuver throughout a construction site, use ladders/stairs in multistory buildings, possibly wear a respirator, and other PPE as necessary
