Job summary

FANUC America is seeking a Service and Installation Engineer to support the installation and startup of robotic systems at customer sites in the Fremont, California area. You will troubleshoot hardware, electrical and software issues and provide on-site training and production support.

Travel to customer locations is required, and you will collaborate with project management, process engineering, and controls/software teams.

Qualifications

2+ years' experience in automation/manufacturing
Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and programming debug experience
Experience with teardown and repair of cell automation equipment
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to perform intricate repairs on mechanical and electrical items

Responsibilities

Support the installation through buyoff, customer acceptance and production support
Provide timely reports that include progress, issues, status updates, and on-site planning
Provide prompt, professional and courteous solutions to customer problems
Track and report on issues and their resolution
Provide cross functional support to various departments, including project management, process engineering and controls and software engineering
Develop and conduct informal on-site system training
Assist in the overall process improvement
Robot installation issue analysis and resolution
Assist in optimizing and programming various Bodyshop applications
Provide executing team part numbers for FANUC deliverables that need to be ordered
Be able to read electrical and mechanical prints
