Job summary

FANUC America Corporation is seeking an Associate Field Service Engineer to provide on-site repair, troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance for FANUC robots and related equipment. The role requires traveling to customer sites, often with long hours and after-hours support.

You will diagnose issues, repair mechanical/electrical/pneumatic systems, and document results for continuous improvement. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the US/Canada are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with experience in robot repair.
• Experience or education in robotics integration, installation, or service repairs.
• Experience or education with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting, teardown, and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and related technical documentation.
• Familiar with standard machining practices, tooling, fixtures, and gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to drive throughout the organization’s service area for business as required.
• Must be able to legally rent and operate a vehicle in the United States and Canada for business travel purposes.

Responsibilities

• Discuss, diagnose, and repair robot problems as reported by customers or support hotline.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robot units, controllers, and electrical devices.
• Document performance, failure modes, and results for troubleshooting and repair.
• Provide daily status reports to Service Supervisor/Dispatch.
• Complete field service reports detailing problem, actions, and costs.
• Maintain service tools and documentation for rapid response.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
• Coordinate with Service Supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction and proper billing.
