Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Engineer II for its AR TD team to lead on-site deployment of industrial robotics across North America. You will coordinate installation, testing, and handoffs with hardware engineering, PMs, and operations, traveling up to 75% to meet project goals.

You will develop deployment documents, drive continuous improvements, mentor engineers, and contribute to safety, quality, and cost reductions in large-scale projects across Seattle and other North America sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years experience troubleshooting robotics systems or other complex mechanical-electrical or networked systems.
5+ years experience in deployment, retrofits or technical maintenance of large-scale industrial robotics.
5+ years experience in use of project management and supply management tools/software including BOMs, work instructions, and task management.
Experience with technical drawings and CAD models for deployment and support of large-scale robotics.
Demonstrated ability to work with PLCs, SCADA systems, and network infrastructure.
Ability to travel domestically 75% or more of the year.

Responsibilities

Own strategic execution of onsite installation and acceptance testing to meet go-live dates.
Collaborate with hardware engineering, TPMs, PMs and site teams to refine deployment documents.
Improve operational metrics and team processes through automation and optimization.
Independently resolve difficult technical problems during deployment with trade-off decisions.
Create and improve standard work documents and operational guides.
Influence internal and partner teams to meet goals.
Develop subject matter expertise in deployment domains and mentor junior engineers.
