Job summary

CDM Smith’s Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group seeks an on-site Field Inspector to support highway construction projects across multiple locations. This role involves inspections of traffic control, materials testing coordination, and adherence to the Quality Control Plan.

You will work under supervision, read plans, and communicate findings in English, with travel up to 40% and a valid driver's license required. An HS diploma and 2 years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of related experience is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel 20–40% is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
• Review daily contractor reports and quality control procedures for conformance.
• May sample or test soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt on site.
