Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to support transportation construction projects across multiple locations, including Sarasota, FL. You will work under direct supervision to inspect traffic control, materials, and workmanship, and you will review reports and testing results to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities include reviewing contractor reports, QC procedures, and material testing; you may perform sampling and in-place testing of soils, bases, concrete and asphalt.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 0 years.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
• Review the contractor’s daily reports and QC procedures for acceptance or rejection.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance and measure quantities.
• May perform sampling and in-place testing of soil, base, concrete and asphalt.
