Job summary

Agency for Health Care Administration in Florida conducts surveys of health care facilities to ensure compliance with state licensure and federal Medicare/Medicaid requirements. The Registered Nurse Specialist documents findings and may work solo or as part of a team, sometimes in leadership roles, and must complete the mandatory Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within the first year.

Expect travel, possible weekend or holiday work, and adherence to background screening requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse per Florida Statute 464.
• Two years of professional nursing experience.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Proficiency with computer software (Word/Outlook) and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of health care facilities for licensure and federal certification.
• Document findings and complete written survey reports.
• Work as an individual, in teams, or as a team leader as assigned.
• Complete the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within 12 months of employment.
