AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized care to ventilator-dependent patients at home and in alternate care settings. You will combine hands-on clinical care, patient education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, coordinated outcomes outside the hospital.

The role requires an associates degree in respiratory therapy, licensure, CPR, and travel readiness.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure as a Respiratory Therapist or similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states served by the branch.
• CPR certification and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments, review patient records and care plans, and report to physicians.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator dependent patients and ensure safe home transitions.
• Instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator use and supplies.
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources regarding patient status.
• Conduct in-services for hospital staff and referral sources on equipment and topics.
• Adhere to HIPAA, PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling requirements.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in company systems.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records, prescriptions, and care plans.
• Support quality tracking, data trending, and regulatory compliance through documentation.
• Engage in continuing education to expand role-related competencies.
• Promote AdaptHealth through education, program development, and referrals.
• Collaborate with peers and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
• Communicate clearly about patient care and operational needs, verbally and in writing.
• Participate in on-call rotation as per company policy.
• Complete compliance training and adhere to the company Compliance Program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
