Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Support Technician to deliver direct and indirect patient care across home, office, and hospital environments. You will train staff, troubleshoot respiratory equipment, and ensure accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include equipment setup for PAP devices, follow-up visits, and collaboration with CPAP/BIPAP program managers to optimize patient outcomes while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Related experience in construction, general manual labor, military and equipment repair, or maintenance tasks.
• Exact tasks in a Medicare certified HME environment that bills insurance are considered related experience.
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy or DME services preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license from state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Respiratory Department Staff, CPAP/BIPAP Program Managers, and Operations Managers to provide equipment instruction, service, and troubleshooting for respiratory patients.
• Set up and fit PAP patients with appropriate equipment and masks, communicating instructions and processes clearly.
• Conduct patient follow-up calls and visits to ensure optimal care outcomes; contact clinical support when urgent needs are identified.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance checks and simple repairs per policy and manufacturer guidelines.
• Report equipment hazards and product incidents per policies and procedures.
• Maintain working knowledge of current Respiratory Programs and HME products and services.
• Complete required paperwork including delivery tickets, safety checklists, and equipment instructions.
• Develop and maintain basic reimbursement knowledge for proper billing documentation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; complete training programs.
• Promote services and products to community referral sources as appropriate.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
