Job summary

CoStar Group in Detroit, MI is seeking a Field Researcher to canvass commercial properties, document tenants, and capture details that feed our market analytics. You will visit high-priority buildings, map occupancy, and help build a complete local data picture.

The role requires independent work across a defined geographic area, professional communication with property staff, timely data entry, and a commitment to accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required.
• At least 2 years of professional experience.
• Strong time management and highly detail oriented; able to work independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to accurately capture and enter data.
• Ability to work independently across large geographic areas.
• Strong problem-solving skills; identify missing data and resolve discrepancies.
• Field experience preferred.
• Candidates must possess a current and valid drivers license.
• Driving record check required before start.

Responsibilities

• Navigate one-mile square grids to ensure complete commercial data coverage.
• Walk through buildings floor-by-floor to document tenant data (business name, full address, suite size, geo-location).
• Communicate with building staff to access tenant rosters and data.
• Identify new or missing inventory and data gaps.
• Ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of information collected.
• Represent CoStar in a professional manner at all times.
