Job summary

CoStar Group, Inc. is seeking a Field Researcher in Los Angeles, CA. The role focuses on canvassing commercial properties to capture current tenants, available listings, and building characteristics for accurate market insight.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, 2+ years in data collection, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and travel across a defined geographic area. Field experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• At least 2 years of professional experience.
• Strong time management and detail orientation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to accurately capture and enter data.
• Work independently, stay organized across large areas.
• Strong problem-solving skills; identify missing data and resolve discrepancies.
• Tech-savvy with Windows, Mac OS, Office, and internet apps. Field experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass driving checks.

Responsibilities

• Navigate one-mile square grids to ensure complete data coverage.
• Walk through buildings to document tenant data (name, address, suite, geo-location).
• Communicate with building staff to gain access to tenant rosters.
• Identify missing inventory and data gaps.
• Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and professionalism in data collection.
