Job summary

Bayer Crop Science in Monmouth, IL is seeking a Research Specialist III to support field physiology experiments, planning, data collection, and supervision of interns. The role is field-oriented with exposure to multiple project teams and equipment.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in a related field by Dec 2026, field-based research experience, and a valid driver's license; relocation may be provided. A UAV and pesticide license are desirable or willingness to obtain them.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or degree near completion by December 2026 in Crop Physiology, Agronomy, Plant Science, Biology or related fields.
• Field-based research experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Willingness to travel overnight and weekends during peak periods.
• UAV license or willingness to obtain.
• Illinois pesticide license or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Manage seeding, staging plant development, data collection and harvest operations.
• Supervision and training of temporary employees.
• Coordination with Project Teams and other research sites to ensure efficient and high quality execution of crop physiology experiments.
• Contribute as a key member of project teams to plan and rationalize experiments.
• Work closely with Data Team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of data.
• Contribute to quality control of data.
• Utilize specialized research equipment related to Crop Physiology experimentation.
• Ensure activities comply with Safety and Compliance standards.
• Position may require driving a company vehicle and substantial mileage.
