Job summary

Bayer Crop Science in Monmouth, IL, is seeking a Research Specialist III to lead field physiology experiments and ensure high-quality data from field trials. You will plan, coordinate and execute activities, train temporary staff, and maintain safety and compliance across peak seasons.

Ideal candidates have field research experience, a valid driver's license, and ability to work during planting and harvest periods, with strong data analysis and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or knowledge of bachelor’s degree completed by December 2026 in Crop Physiology, Agronomy, Plant Science, Biology or related fields.
• Field based research experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to carry out field based research during peak planting, flowering and harvest seasons.
• UAV pilot license or willingness to obtain.
• Illinois pesticide license or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Strong data analysis and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage seeding, staging plant development, data collection, and harvest operations.
• Supervision and training of temporary employees.
• Coordinate with Project Teams and other sites for quality execution of crop physiology experiments.
• Contribute to planning and rationalizing experiments as part of project teams.
• Work with Data Team to ensure accurate delivery of data and quality control.
