Job summary

Seneca Foods in Glencoe, MN is seeking a Field Representative to procure raw product, contract crop acres, and coordinate planting and harvesting of peas and sweet corn.

The role requires a four-year degree in Agriculture or related field, strong planning and leadership abilities, and solid communication skills. Starting wage ranges from $62k to $72k, with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be knowledgeable in all general agriculture areas.
• Strong planning and organizational skills; leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a plan to contract crop acres.
• Issue seed, plant, survey for weeds and other pests, stake fields, sample crops, procure labor and equipment.
• Supervise harvest of peas and sweet corn acreage, and maintain accurate records.
• Encourage good grower and community relations.
• Ensure that GMP’s (General manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced.
• Cross training with other departments as opportunities arise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Procure raw product from a grower-based operation that meets objective standards. Responsible for contracting, planting, and harvesting pea and sweet corn acreage in a defined growing location.
