Job summary

Albany County Government is seeking a Property Tax Appraiser to perform real estate appraisals at fair market value, both in the field and in the office. The role requires accurate data collection, measurements, and photo documentation, guided by state and county procedures.

Responsibilities include field inspections, data entry into Wyoming CAMA with high accuracy, and maintaining permits, while reading Marshall & Swift Handbooks to ensure valid assessments for the County Board of Equalization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain Permanent Certification of Property Tax Appraiser within six years.

Responsibilities

• Performs field inspections of improvements within Albany County; sketches improvements to scale and assesses quality and condition.
• Ensures assessments reflect property values legally defensible to the County Board of Equalization.
• Measures and photographs all structures in detail and accuracy.
• Enter data from inspections into the Wyoming CAMA system with 90%+ accuracy.
• Use a mapping system in the field to locate properties.
• Operate a county vehicle in accordance with traffic laws.
• Track and enter city and county building permits.
• Read and understand Marshall & Swift Handbooks and Field Manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
