Sdmsconnect is seeking a Field Quality Technician for a six-month outdoor solar construction project in Michigan. The role involves performing daily inspections, both visual and measured, using established procedures and tools, and documenting results on a tablet with designated software.

The position emphasizes independence, reliability, and attention to detail, with onboarding provided for site-specific inspection procedures. Outdoor work, weather variation, and safety PPE are required.

Job description

The Field Quality Technician performs repeatable visual and measured inspections of installed solar panels on an outdoor construction project. Working from established inspection criteria, the technician completes scheduled and random checks, uses basic measuring tools to verify installation quality, and records inspection results electronically.

This position is best suited for someone who is capable, confident, self-directed, and comfortable completing repeatable daily tasks with limited supervision. Inspection procedures and project-specific training will be provided. No electrical work or previous solar installation experience is required.

This is a six-month temporary position.

Work Environment

• Work is performed primarily outdoors on a large solar construction project.
• Must be comfortable working in changing weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and move across uneven terrain.
• Must be able to bend, reach, and position measuring tools as required.
• Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
