Job summary

Caliber is seeking a Quality Technical Coach in the Salt Lake City area to mentor technicians, oversee OEM-compliant repairs, and drive center performance. This role emphasizes collaboration with center leadership and the OE Certification Team to ensure tools, equipment, and training meet Caliber standards.

The successful candidate will have 10+ years in collision repair, I-CAR Structural Platinum, and strong proficiency with CCC One, Estimating Systems, and Alldata, plus a solid grounding in

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience as a Non-Structural and Structural technician.
  • Proficiency in using collision repair equipment and diagnostic instruments.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company insurance policy.
  • Maintain or acquire I-CAR Structural Platinum certification.
  • Basic working knowledge of CCC One, Estimating Systems and Alldata.
  • Basic computer skills and a working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • In-depth knowledge of OEM repair procedures and specifications.
  • Commitment to continuing education to stay current with industry practices.
  • Represent Caliber with integrity and professionalism.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, estimates and work orders.
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor repair technicians, estimators, and management to uphold Caliber standards aligned with OEM specifications.
  • Use third-party software to file reports on repair completion to OE standards.
  • Coordinate training based on quality reviews and needs.
  • Partner with executive teams and field leadership for alignment and improvements.
  • Complete facility inspections and submit reports with photos of shop, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Review reports with Center and Operations Leadership for accountability and improvements.
  • Ensure performance indicators and certification eligibility are monitored and met.
  • Develop actionable plans to improve processes and procedures with measurable deliverables.
  • Liaise with OE Certification Team to verify equipment, tools, and training needs.

A Quality Technical Coach is a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional responsible for performing and or overseeing specialized repairs and restorations on vehicles using original manufacturer parts and adhering to OEM specifications. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that vehicles are restored to their original condition, maintaining safety, quality, and compliance with the manufacturer's standards. Overseeing OE enrolled Centers for program compliancy.

Up to 30% Travel required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Mentor repair technicians, estimators, and management to ensure the Caliber standard of quality, which corresponds with the OEM specifications.
  • Use 3rd party software to file reports regarding accurate completion of repair to OE standards.
  • Follow up with center teammates regarding repairs in person or through conference calls.
  • Recommend and coordinate necessary training for areas of need based on quality reviews.
  • Partner with, build alliances and perform liaison activities with the executive team and field leadership.
  • Complete facility inspections as assigned and submit reports using third-party software to: Take and submit photos of the shop and tools, equipment, and materials.
    • Recommend repair or replacement of tools, equipment, and materials as necessary.
    • Recommend training on tools and equipment.
  • Review reports with Center and Operations Leadership for accountability and successful management of Parts, Center Systems/Processes, Equipment and Training verification.
  • Maintain a reporting structure that readily monitors performance indicators and Certification eligibility.
  • Create actionable plans to improve processes and procedures to accomplish objectives, which include metrics of success and deliverables.
  • Alignment of top-down vision, goals and objectives from business strategy flowing through to successful completion of center objectives.
  • Optimization of center performance across the company to achieve the best functional, center production and technical value.
  • Facilitate with OE Certification Team to Centers to verify equipment, tools, and training needs for teammates.

  • Ability to understand workflows and have the ability to navigate and submit reports using a laptop and/or other electronic device.
  • Personable, friendly demeanor with “World Class” customer service approach with internal and external customers.
  • Well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Training or teaching experience preferred.
