Job summary

Fairphone is seeking a Field Quality Manager to strengthen quality across its suppliers for audio products and smartphones. You will lead due diligence during supplier selection, monitor quality risks, and translate field data into preventive actions with suppliers.

The role bridges internal teams with external suppliers, driving continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with Amsterdam HQ. Strong autonomy and remote collaboration are essential as you work with teams globally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Quality Operations, with a proven track record in consumer electronics.
• Solid technical background in consumer hardware with experience analyzing field failure rates (FFR) and driving closed-loop resolutions with suppliers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
• Familiarity with digital productivity tools such as macOS, Google Workspace, and Basecamp is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish closed-loop feedback mechanisms linking real-world field failure data back to suppliers.
• Lead investigations for field failure rates metrics, escalation to stakeholders, and drive resolution.
• Lead due diligence evaluations to assess suppliers capabilities, compliance, readiness, and quality systems.
• Deliver due diligence reporting, recommendations, and risk analysis.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Strategic sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, Product, Engineering, Circular Operations).
• Provide support to downstream suppliers to ensure standardized end-to-end quality across the network.
