Job summary

KIEWIT is seeking an Entry Level Quality Specialist to coordinate and document quality control activities on heavy civil projects. You may witness inspections, perform tests, and provide required QA/QC documentation for assigned areas or disciplines.

The role is field or shop-based with opportunities to relocate as needed and contribute to projects across the South Central District and beyond. A relevant degree with 0–2 years of experience is typical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Welding Technology, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in construction quality (entry level).
• Familiarity with construction quality control procedures preferred.
• Certifications such as ASQ, CQM, CQA or CWI are a plus.
• Working knowledge of trades, inspection/testing techniques.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Understand project scope, quality requirements, and applicable quality plans.
• Coordinate inspections and tests aligned with schedules and goals.
• Address client concerns with transparent quality communication.
• Collaborate with operations to develop work packs with inspections and documentation.
• Review work packs for readiness before meetings and execution.
• Manage inspections for permanent materials and equipment.
• Evaluate supplier quality documentation for contract compliance.
• Forecast costs for third-party inspection/testing services and report trends.
• Perform inspections and tests as directed and document results.
• Prepare inspection/test reports and quality records.
• Review and approve inspection/test results for contract compliance.
