Kimmel & Associates is seeking a Quality Control Assistant to support the QC Manager on a major heavy civil construction project in Campo, California. You will assist with inspections, testing, documentation, submittals, RFIs, and subcontractor oversight to ensure contract compliance.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of construction quality control experience, preferably in heavy civil construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
• Experience with heavy civil/sitework projects such as highways, bridges, DOT infrastructure, utilities, dams.
• Familiarity with soil and/or concrete testing.
• Understanding of field testing and inspection procedures, specifications, tolerances, and civil/structural concepts.
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Experience with audits, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment.
• Ability to assist with both field and office engineering responsibilities.
• Understanding of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, contractors, and clients.

Aufgaben

• Assist the QC Manager with all aspects of project quality control.
• Review and prepare design and construction documents.
• Support QA/QC protocols through submittals, RFIs, inspections, and field testing.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Provide field oversight of subcontractors and construction activities.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation, reports, and electronic project records.
• Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and clients to resolve quality issues.
• Assist with Daily Construction Reports, submittals, transmittals, and subcontract/PO documentation.
• Review contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for compliance with required tolerances.
• Support internal production monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Assist with implementation of project safety programs.
• Provide guidance to project personnel regarding QC procedures and requirements.
• Support quality management efforts from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality management systems and processes.
