Job description

Looking for an opportunity to make a difference? Then you may have found your next career move. We’re seeking a Field Quality Control Technician to join our team and help connect America. This role involves leading efforts to identify and address field quality deficiencies, resulting in fewer damages.

What you’ll do…

  1. Collaborate with operations supervisors, managers, and Field Check partners to select audits that prevent potential damages.
  2. Perform field audits for accuracy of marks and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
  3. Conduct root cause analysis on quality failures.
  4. Complete all forms and documents required for audits and investigations, and communicate findings with quality assurance and management.
  5. Correct field risk findings and provide coaching/mentoring to technicians.
  6. Perform quality assurance ride-alongs with field technicians as requested by the Operations Manager.
  7. Provide ongoing feedback to Field Check partners to improve quality and reduce damages.
  8. Offer witness testimony in small claims and litigated cases when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of locating experience and/or equivalent.
  • Ability to troubleshoot difficult locates and interpret utility plats.
  • Proficiency with various locating equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • At least 5 years of investigation experience.

Workplace Environment and Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, with repetitive and fine hand movements. Work is outdoors in all weather conditions and rugged terrains, including active construction sites. Noise levels vary, and extensive driving may be required.
