Job description

Looking for an opportunity to make a difference? Then you may have found your next career move. We’re seeking a Field Quality Control Technician to join our team and help connect America. This role involves leading efforts to identify and address field quality deficiencies, resulting in fewer damages.

What you’ll do…
  1. Collaborate with operations supervisors, managers, and Field Check partners to select audits aimed at preventing damages.
  2. Conduct field audits to verify accuracy of marks and compliance with state laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
  3. Perform root cause analysis on quality failures.
  4. Complete required forms and documents for audits and investigations, and communicate findings to quality assurance and management.
  5. Address field risk findings and mentor technicians.
  6. Participate in quality assurance ride-alongs upon request.
  7. Provide ongoing feedback to Field Check partners to improve quality and reduce damages.
  8. Provide witness testimony in small claims and litigated cases when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of locating experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex locates and interpret utility plats proficiently.
  • Proficiency with various locating equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • At least 5 years of investigation experience.
Workplace Environment and Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, often outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation, and rugged terrains such as easements, rural areas, and active construction sites. Noise levels may vary from moderate to loud, with potential extensive driving and long absences from home.
