Job summary

CRH Alabama is seeking a Quality Control Technician to inspect asphalt road construction projects, perform field tests, and ensure density and roadway smoothness specifications are met. The role involves working at multiple plants and job sites across Midsouth, following safety procedures and documenting results.

You will operate profiling, density gauges, core drilling, and other testing equipment, report findings, and support road crews.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in construction field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abide by safety requirements and company policies.
• Develop relationships with DOT and engineering personnel.
• Establish rolling patterns to meet specified densities.
• Take density readings and record results in log books.
• Use profilograph to collect data for roadway smoothness specifications.
• Operate core drilling to collect field density samples.
• Record and maintain test results database.
• Maintain testing equipment and documentation; transport equipment to job sites.
• Travel to Midsouth Asphalt Plants and job sites as needed; overnight stays possible.
• Work nights and weekends when required; perform overtime as needed.
