Job summary

Stantec is seeking a safety-focused CQA specialist to perform construction quality assurance at a mine reclamation project in northern New Mexico. The role is full-time, on-site with a minimum two-year commitment, starting January 2027, working with client and contractors to verify construction meets design specs.

The ideal candidate has field experience in heavy earthworks and QA, with knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D and Trimble tools; OSHA HAZWOPER training is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in quality control/assurance for heavy civil construction.
• Experience on large earthwork and/or mine reclamation projects is an asset.
• Exceptional technical writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-functioning safety culture and track safe work practices.
• Use field equipment including Trimble survey tools and XRF spectrometer.
• Contribute to design solutions, as-built records, and field engineering activities using AutoCAD Civil3D and Trimble software.
• Plan, coordinate, direct, and execute CQA field team activities and documentation.
• Review RFIs, technical memoranda, and as-built reports.
• Supervise QA activities including sampling, gradation analyses, and surveying.
• Interact daily with client management and field staff to plan and execute CQA activities.
