Job summary

RESPEC seeks a CQA Technician to support our Pipersville location. The Construction Quality Assurance Technician performs inspections and maintains detailed documentation for Solid Waste and other projects, coordinating with project managers to meet specifications and timelines.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of relevant experience, proficiency in MS Office, and comfort with fieldwork year-round. AutoCAD experience is a plus, and the role offers a comprehensive benefits package with ESOP

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical subject preferred.
• ~1–3 years of relevant experience including soils and geosynthetics CQA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software is preferred.
• Willingness to perform fieldwork year-round, potentially for extended durations.
• Ability to work with a technical team and communicate with the client.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction quality assurance observation / inspections for Solid Waste, Environmental and Civil Construction Projects including soils, concrete, reinforcement, geosynthetics, and piping systems.
• Perform soils testing including nuclear and non-nuclear gage density / compaction testing & proof roll testing.
• Read and understand engineering plans / details, technical specifications, and other project documents to perform CQA requirements.
• Coordinate with soils / geotechnical testing and geosynthetic laboratories.
• Perform environmental inspection for E&S controls and Permit Compliance.
• Monitor on-site contractors and coordinate deviations with the design and project manager.
• Create project documentation including daily field reports, testing reports, and equipment usage logs.
• Coordinate with project managers, on-site staff, and clients the timeline of milestones.
• Assist with AutoCAD drafting, surveying, operations, and engineering support services when no CQA field work is active.
