Job summary

Orange County Property seeks an Appraiser II in TPP Valuations to inspect tangible personal property and determine fair market values for ad valorem tax purposes. You will gather mechanical and financial data, calculate values, and communicate methods to property owners.

Experience with CAMA and field work is preferred. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in various weather conditions, with potential engagement in Value Adjustment Board

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of experience as a TPP Appraiser or related experience.
• Associate degree in Business Administration or Finance preferred.
• CFE designation preferred.
• Proficiency with databases, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical inspections of tangible personal property for appraisal.
• Gather data on property type, age, condition and quantity.
• Calculate taxable property values and verify fairness of values.
• Explain methods and policies to owners or representatives.
• Prepare VAB evidence and present at hearings.
• Specialize in categories like income properties, billboards, vending, utilities, and lease accounts.
• Maintain safety and readiness of office equipment and vehicles.
