The City of Alexandria, Virginia is seeking a Property Maintenance Code Inspector I, II or III to perform proactive field inspections, review complaints, and identify violations in the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building and Maintenance Codes. The role requires application of code inspection knowledge and tests/certifications as required by VHCD and ICD.

Qualified candidates will have experience with building codes, the ability to inspect, communicate abatement actions, and maintain inspection

Formación

• Knowledge of USBC and local City ordinances preferred.
• Ability to perform on-site inspections and review complaints.
• Familiarity with inspection data entry and reporting processes.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct proactive inspections per USBC.
• Research provisions of codes, ordinances, and policies.
• Address complaints and communicate abatement actions.
• Enter inspection data and prepare violation notifications.
• Attend meetings and testify in court as required.
