Job summary

IMDiversity Inc. in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Code Inspector in the Property Maintenance division to perform proactive inspections, review complaints, and identify violations.

The role involves on-site inspections, data entry, and negotiation of corrective actions with owners and tenants. Ideal candidates will have progressive certification requirements, valid driver’s license, and the ability to testify in court when required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in construction or a construction-related field (Code Inspector I).
• Four years of experience in construction or construction inspection (Code Inspector II).
• Five years of experience in construction or related field (Code Inspector III).

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive inspections and identify code violations according to USBC and local ordinances.
• Review complaints, negotiate compliance solutions with property owners, tenants, and business owners.
• Perform on-site inspections and document results in the database; prepare notifications.
• Attend trainings to maintain certifications; testify in court as required.
• Operate city vehicle and manage inspection schedules; maintain reports.

Education

Associate degree in engineering/architecture/building construction

Bachelor's degree in engineering/architecture/building construction
