Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Field Claims professional to handle homeowner property claims in the Chicagoland area. This role is primarily field-based, with 80% time spent outside the office and up to 50% travel. You will investigate, inspect, and negotiate settlements while reporting to the Property Claim Manager in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims.
• Solid understanding of casualty coverages and endorsements.
• Knowledge of the claim handling process from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims and contacts insureds, claimants, and others.
• Conducts on-site inspections and evaluates damages.
• Negotiates settlements and closes files following policy terms.
