Job summary

Capstone ISG is seeking a detail-oriented Property Claims Adjuster to independently manage residential and commercial property claims through investigation, evaluation, and resolution. The role requires strong technical claims handling, coverage analysis, accurate estimating, and the ability to handle multiple claims of varying complexity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; further studies in insurance, construction, business, or related field preferred.
• Prior property claims adjusting experience preferred; training available for newcomers.
• Xactimate estimating software strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of residential/commercial construction methods and repair practices preferred.
• Ability to interpret insurance policy language and apply coverage provisions.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written documentation and professional communication skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and prioritize deadlines.
• Proficiency with claims management systems, estimating platforms, and standard software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required state adjuster licenses; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations for residential and commercial property losses.
• Analyze policy language, endorsements, forms, exclusions and instructions to determine coverage.
• Evaluate and adjust claims from routine to high-severity losses.
• Document damage with photos, measurements, interviews, and field notes.
• Prepare repair estimates using Xactimate and other resources.
• Establish and maintain claim reserves based on findings and exposure.
• Prepare reports, coverage analyses, settlement recommendations, and client communications.
• Draft settlement, denial, reservation of rights letters and other correspondence.
• Perform contents inventory reviews and pricing analyses for property losses.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and preserve recovery rights.
• Coordinate engineers, contractors, and experts to evaluate causation and liability.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and advise on complex resolutions.
• Maintain documentation, billing records, and expense reporting.
• Manage assigned caseload while meeting quality, service, and reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, carrier guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain adjuster licenses.
