Job summary

Muskegon County is seeking an Appraisal Technician to support the Equalization Department in both field and office work. You will measure real property, review personal property cost records, and assist in preparing formal appraisal reports.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 2 years college coursework in related fields; GED acceptable with GIS/inspection experience.
• Must obtain MCAT or MCAO certification within 1 year; valid Michigan driver’s license required.
• Must provide own transportation for field duties when county vehicle is unavailable.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and office tasks in appraisal of real and personal property.
• Measure property features and interpret maps and legal descriptions.
• Interview owners/occupants to support accurate appraisals and prepare reports.
