Job summary

Costich Engineering is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Resident Project Representative to provide field observation, construction documentation, and coordination for transportation and municipal infrastructure projects throughout Western New York. This on-site role supports a significant roadway program alongside municipalities, contractors, utilities, and our project team.

The position requires 3–5 years of progress-driven inspection experience and an Associate’s degree or equivalent in

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of progressive construction inspection experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specs and schedules.
• Experience documenting daily construction reports and quantities.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across Western New York.
• Proficiency with MS Office and electronic construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site representation during roadway, utility, drainage, pedestrian, and site infrastructure construction.
• Observe operations for conformance with plans, specifications, permits, and submittals.
• Monitor excavation, grading, paving, drainage, utilities, and restoration.
• Coordinate and witness material sampling, testing, and inspections.
• Prepare daily construction reports and field diaries.
• Track extra work, force account work, and change orders.
• Serve as the day-to-day field liaison among Owner, agencies, and contractors.
• Observe traffic control, environmental protections, and safety requirements.
• Participate in substantial completion and final inspections.
