Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Resident Project Representative to support our Water/Wastewater practice in the Northeast (MA/RI). This field-focused role requires 3+ years of vertical construction experience and strong communication with engineers, owners, and contractors.

The position emphasizes site observations, documentation, and coordination while allowing for flexible travel within driving distance of projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
3+ years of vertical construction/field observation experience.
Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, owners, and superintendents.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications (MS Office).
Knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods.
Ability to stand and walk for several hours during site observations.
Valid driver's license, good driving history, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Observe and report on vertical construction of water and wastewater projects including treatment plants, pump stations, and tanks.
Monitor contractor adherence to standards, specifications, drawings, and permits.
Review submittals, RFIs, and project documentation; provide comments and coordinate reviews.
Observe activities to ensure compliance; track progress and prepare reports.
Record field conditions and ensure construction aligns with current standards and specs.
Photograph ongoing construction work and note deficiencies.
Maintain daily field log and track quantities of construction.
Coordinate and schedule subconsultants as needed; communicate with all parties.
Prepare written progress reports and assist with submittals and change orders.
