Job summary

Core & Main LP, based in St. Louis, seeks a product specialist to partner with the sales team and provide expert guidance on products and services.

You will demonstrate solutions to customers and support pre-sale activities, with travel and a company vehicle required. You will build relationships with vendors and customers, negotiate pricing, train sales staff on product knowledge, and help tailor offerings to retrofit and facilities projects across municipal, private water, and industrial

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable.
• BS/BA in related discipline; 5–8 years of experience (MS/MA possible with 3–5 years). Certification may be required in some areas.
• 2–5 years of experience in contract negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical product solutions for existing customers and sales reps.
• Demonstrates products and supports pre-sale activities.
• Targets retrofit customers and projects leveraging product benefits.
• Specifies products, suggests inventory, and drafts quotations.
• Collaborates with Purchasing/Regional Management on inventory and pricing.
• Builds vendor and customer relationships; liaison to field teams.
• Negotiates pricing with local reps and suppliers.
• Analyzes market conditions to support category initiatives.
• Trains sales staff on product knowledge and new tech.
