Job summary

Empire Southwest is seeking a field service technician to troubleshoot, repair, recondition and maintain generators, switchgear and related electrical systems in field environments, including potential hyperscale data centers. You will work in adverse weather, accept extended overnight assignments, and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients about equipment conditions and recommendations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Current driver’s license.
• *Required DOT licensing, medical card, and endorsements as vehicle size dictates.
• Minimum of 6 months related experience.
• Completion of TRAIN test evaluation.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, recondition and maintain service of generators, switchgear, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), electrical systems, engines, and their components in field environments, potentially including hyperscale data centers.
• Work in adverse weather conditions as needed.
• Accept all out-of-town assignments requiring extended overnight stays.
• Communicate orally and in writing information, instructions, and explanations to associates, clients and management regarding equipment conditions, problems, and recommendations.
