Job summary

Nebraska Machinery Company (NMC) Cat, the Caterpillar dealer for Nebraska, is seeking a Power Generation Technician (Field Service). This role repairs generators and industrial engines, and services electrical power systems in shop and field environments, requiring hands-on skills to remove, install, repair, and analyze components.

Qualifications

• Repair and service experience with generators, engines, and electrical systems.
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Willingness to work in shop, field, or customer locations, including overtime and overnight assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site customer support for power generation facilities through evaluations, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
• Install, service, and repair generators, UPS, switchgear, and paralleling gear for proper system integration.
• Conduct performance tests, interpret results, and decide scope of repairs independently.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on engines, generators, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, including fuel, ignition, cooling, emissions, and controls.
• Overhaul engines in the field as required and complete all documentation daily.
