Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking a Power Designer - Field to own field data collection through construction-ready deliverables. This remote-capable role requires regular local fieldwork with 50%+ travel, serving Northeastern/Southwestern Oklahoma regions and adjacent states.

You will perform walkouts, verify data, and develop design packages compliant with NESC, using DDS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation. Strong field-to-design translation is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in power distribution design or make-ready engineering.
• Experience with field walkouts and data collection to support design work.
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; DDS/Katapult/O-Calc are a plus.
• Knowledge of NESC standards and pole loading concepts.

Responsibilities

• Perform field data collection and pole walkouts to gather attachment, clearance, and structural data.
• Verify pole ownership, heights, spans, guying, and equipment in the field.
• Develop construction-ready design packages compliant with NESC and client standards.
• Execute overhead distribution and make-ready designs; analyze requirements.
• Use DDS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, or related tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and QA teams; support QC reviews.
