Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking a General Inspector in Atlanta to perform daily visual inspections of pipeline construction and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, permits, and procedures. You will document findings, escalate deficiencies, and report to the Chief Inspector and Company Representative.

The role requires inspecting Other Contractors' work, verifying equipment, safety measures, and coatings, and completing various inspection forms throughout field

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years coordinating and inspecting construction projects for natural gas pipeline construction.
• Ability to read construction drawings, alignment sheets, and valve maps and translate them to actual field constructability.
• Past experience inspecting the application of field-applied pipeline coatings.
• Familiarity with DOT 192 and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement the Company's OPM and all other attachments.
• Required Operator Qualifications (per contract documents).
• Word and Excel computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Other Contractors' work for compliance with all permit requirements and one-call requirements; communicate deviations verbally and document the same day.
• Verify contractors have and use necessary equipment, safety measures, records, drawings, GIS, to protect pipelines and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with Client Spotting/BMPs and best practices.
• Verify gas lines are located, utilities marked, and facilities painted/flagged per local rules.
• Record field activities in Daily Progress Reports for inventory and billing; identify waste reduction opportunities.
• Follow company procedures and coating manufacturer instructions for field coatings of pipe components.
• Verify materials are properly constructed, rated, and documented before use.
• Complete and submit daily inspection forms, safety/coating/trench/billing inspections as requested.
• Review HDD path acceptability and witness HDD operations for proper support and as-built data.
