Qualifications

• Payroll multi-state tax knowledge required.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Prefer experience with Fusion Oracle and Workday.
• Prefer union experience within the construction industry.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks as needed.
• Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
• Interact effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with sensitive pay data.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for resolutions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team handling complex multi-state/union payrolls.
• Monitor workloads and assign tasks within deadlines.
• Train subordinates and conduct performance reviews.
• Mentor payroll staff and ensure policy compliance.
• Assess risk and authorize policy exceptions as needed.
• Process, audit, and review timekeeping, payroll, and deductions.
• Audit time records across locations and make adjustments.
• Resolve escalated employee issues within guidelines.
• Collaborate with HR on leaves and transfers.
• Stay current with payroll regulations and tax changes.
• Assist IT with payroll system enhancements and testing.
• Support auditors with required payroll information.
