Job summary

LJA Engineering is seeking a Party Chief to transport and set up surveying instruments, prepare job sites, and ensure data quality for land surveys. You will work across office, field, and backstage environments with employee-owners who value collaboration and growth.

In this role, you’ll operate Trimble/Topcon GPS systems and total stations, record field notes, prepare sketches, and support CAD data workflows while maintaining strong client relationships and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• HS Graduate or GED
• Strong communication both oral and written
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients

Responsibilities

• Operate surveying equipment including Trimble/Topcon GPS and total stations
• Run level loops to establish vertical control for topographic surveys
• Calculate property corners and prepare metes and bounds sketches
• Prepare field notes and CAD-ready data for project workflows
• Maintain detailed notes and follow instructions
