Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other contacts.
• Knowledge of truck parts.
• Must be able to judge when emergency purchases are justified and coordinate orders with parts advisors.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets criteria.
• Must obtain and maintain DOT Driver Medical certification.

Responsibilities

• Visit assigned customers.
• Prospect for new customers.
• Act as a public relations liaison for the dealership.
• Follow up on parts orders to ensure customers have been served properly.
• Communicate parts orders to parts advisors and advise on stock or emergency status.
• Advise on delivery instructions, including same-day requests by 8 am.
• Verify delivery dates for non-stock items with customers.
• Turn in call reports and time sheets.
• Review special orders with Outside Sales Manager and obtain approval.
• Obtain approval for any special pricing from Outside Parts Sales Manager.
• Attend training seminars when possible.
• Coordinate service sales with service salespeople.
• Inform Outside Sales Manager of changes in customers’ names or addresses.
• Drive and visit customers/vendors six to eight hours daily.
