Job summary

City of Miami is seeking an entry-level Field Outreach Assistant to support homeless outreach operations. The role involves engaging individuals and families experiencing unsheltered homelessness, facilitating shelter access, and collecting required documentation.

You will work closely with an Information & Referral Specialist, perform data entry in HMIS, and coordinate referrals with City departments and external partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years experience in public-facing clerical support or field-based community engagement.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage individuals and families experiencing unsheltered homelessness and facilitate access to emergency shelter and services.
• Conduct initial engagement and trauma-informed outreach with field safety in HMIS data entry and documentation.
• Coordinate with City departments and partner agencies to identify resources and referrals.
• Prepare daily outreach logs and documentation packets for review.
• Operate field equipment and distribute outreach materials; support field readiness.
