Job summary

Lumos Fiber is seeking a full-time OSP Construction Project Engineer to lead Outside Plant buildouts in the Eagle Pass market. You will oversee line crews, splicers, and subcontractors, ensuring safe, on-time completion within CAPEX budgets, with daily onsite presence.

You will coordinate with municipalities and utilities, enforce NESC standards, and track progress using Sitetracker and Smart Sheets while driving a culture of safety and accountability across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of OSP Engineering, Construction, or Operations experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Fiber/telecom industry experience preferred.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Daily onsite presence in Eagle Pass, TX.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains relationships with local subcontractors and partners to manage OSP crews’ activity safely, on time, and within budget.
• Tracks crew progress and reports to internal teams with real-time updates to support leadership visibility.
• Partners with OSP contractor crews to foster a safety culture at worksites.
• Engages with municipalities, utilities, and community members to drive progress and address concerns.
• Ensures OSP crews meet NESC code for aerial construction and related safety standards.
• Complies with safety regulations to maintain a strong safety record.
• Supports materials forecasting, scheduling, and permitting with internal teams.
• Performs other duties including cross-functional projects.
