Job summary

Devon Energy Corporation in Hobbs, NM is seeking an Optimization Operator to monitor real-time SCADA data and support efficient, safe production of wells. You will work with engineers, foremen, and lease operators to troubleshoot and optimize producing and underperforming wells, while performing limited subsurface maintenance and surveys.

Key duties include SCADA-based decision support, collaboration with field teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of relevant E&P operations experience preferred (Lease Operations, Process Optimization, Equipment Operations).
• Strong oral and written communication, and digital literacy.
• Ability to identify opportunities for cost reductions, reduce production variance, and improve safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Analyze real-time data through SCADA to support informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with engineers, DSC/PA, foremen, and lease operators on wells and lease activities.
• Perform minor subsurface well maintenance and surveys (non-BOPE scope as applicable).
• Conduct dynamometer tests, fluid shots, and FBHP surveys as needed.
• Act as SME for field operations and ensure regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance.
• Report incidents promptly and participate in safety training.
