Job summary

Vannguard Utility Partners, Inc. is seeking a Field Supervisor to oversee underground utility locating teams. You’ll lead field technicians, ensure accurate and safe locates, and support damage-prevention efforts across territories.

Responsibilities include coaching, quality audits, safety compliance, and coordinating with contractors and utilities. Strong leadership and technical knowledge are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred certifications include Locator Certification, OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or damage investigation background.
• DOT drug test pre-employment is required.
• 2+ years of leading a team of 15+ people in a fast-paced field setting.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel) and ticketing software.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, and evaluate field technicians; lead onboarding and ride-alongs.
• Audit locates, manage high‑risk assignments, and oversee equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Enforce safety standards, PPE, and OSHA/industry rules; lead safety talks.
• Be the main liaison for contractors, utility owners, and homeowners; coordinate schedules.
• Review work orders for accuracy and monitor team productivity and compliance metrics.
