Job summary

eX² Technology is seeking a Utility Locator Supervisor to manage underground locating operations, oversee field personnel, and enforce safety compliance. You will coordinate daily locate schedules, investigate damages, and interpret complex maps across field sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 4 - 7 years equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4 to 7 years of underground utility locating experience, alongside 1 to 3 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Experience with complex urban underground utility infrastructure, client liaison, and reviewing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, manage, and evaluate employees and make decisions about hiring and discipline.
• Ensure safety protocols and regulations are followed, coordinate scheduling, and train the team.
• Review as-built drawings, blueprints, and GIS data to resolve complex field issues.
• Prevent fiber cuts to maintain uninterrupted services and network integrity.
• Interpret fiber network schematics and telecommunication GIS databases.
• Train staff on locating equipment and ensure proper use and maintenance.
• Lead damage investigations and document evidence for liability claims.
• Conduct locator audits to identify training needs and improve accuracy.
• Respond to dig ticket requests and coordinate locating and marking per regulations.
• Cover shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays, and be available on-call 24/7.
